Green Time

In the 2012 edition, the Vegetarian Festival will start a fruitful cooperation with the Science Centre of Trieste. The centre will arrange workshops for children aged between 5 and 12.

The Science Centre comprises five sites in Friuli Venezia Giulia and is an interactive and multimedia science museum which draws inspiration from "edutainmentî, that means educational entertainment.

All participants will enjoy fun games and activities designed to build confidence with topics such as environment, renewable energies, recycling and materials recovery. These topics will be will be at the centre of the events organised by the Science Centre at the Vegetarian Festival.

All workshops are designed to entertain and develop children's creativity as well as to raise "young scientists'" awareness about the importance of topics such as environmental protection, sustainability and recycling.

The young audience of the Festival will be taught about: energy, recycling, environment and sustainability. Every day two workshops are scheduled: one for the youngest (5-8 years) and the second for the oldest (9-12 years) for max 25 participants in each workshop.

Every meeting is divided in two parts: during the first one, children will make fun experiments to raise their awareness on the topics, while in the second one all participants will build their own game and bring it back home.
