Luciano Proietti (April 22, 1948) was born in Turin. After his degre in Medicine and Surgery, he specialised in pediatrics and conducted his studies on vegetarianism and nutrition, macrobiotics, hygienics for the pediatric age range.
In 1975 he carried out his first researches in Italy about vegetarian food for children at the Auxology Centre of the Pediatric Clinic at the Unviersity of Turn - directed by prof. Lodovico Benso - with the first auxological evaluations of the vegetarian children.
His surgical activity - performed for 20 years in the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Children Hospital Regina Margherita in Turin- let him discover the physical and psychic sufferance of children and parents caused by a serious and - sometimes fatal - disease.
In agreement with his wife Carla, his three children have adopted a vegetarian diet but they will be free to decide what to eat when they will reach school age.
